Lonesome Lane Lawn Care

Privacy Policy

Plain English, no lawyer-speak. Here is exactly what we collect when you ask for a quote, why we need it, and what we do — and don’t do — with it.

Privacy policy

The short version: we collect what you type into the quote form so we can call you back about your yard. We don’t sell it, we don’t rent it, and we don’t send marketing you didn’t ask for. That’s the whole business model — we’re a lawn care company, not a data company.

Who We Are

Lonesome Lane Lawn Care is a locally owned lawn and landscape business based in Elkhart, Indiana, serving the Michiana region. This policy covers this website and the quote form on it.

What We Collect

Information you give us. When you submit the quote form, we receive whatever you fill in:

  • Your name, email address and phone number
  • The service address or property you want quoted
  • Which services you’re interested in, and the property type
  • Lot size, how often you’d like service, and your preferred day
  • Anything you write in the notes field

Only your name is genuinely required — along with a phone number or email, because otherwise we have no way to get back to you. Everything else just helps us quote accurately without a second phone call.

Information collected automatically. When your quote is submitted we also record the IP address it came from, along with the date and time. This is used to catch automated spam submissions, not to track you. Our web host also keeps standard server and security logs, as essentially every website does.

What we do not collect. We don’t ask for and have no use for payment card numbers, bank details, Social Security numbers, or date of birth. Don’t put any of that in the notes field. This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own, and we don’t run advertising pixels on it.

Why We Have It

  • To quote and schedule your work. The main reason, and usually the only one.
  • To contact you about that request — by phone, text or email, whichever you gave us.
  • To keep records of work quoted and performed, as any business does.
  • To keep the form usable by blocking automated spam.

We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote. If we ever start sending updates or seasonal reminders, it will be because you opted in, and every message will have a way out.

Who Else Sees It

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. Ever. Not to marketers, not to lead brokers, not to other contractors.

A small number of service providers necessarily handle it so the website and the business can function:

  • Our web host and security provider (Cloudflare) — delivers the site and filters malicious traffic. The “verify you are human” check on the form is Cloudflare Turnstile, which is designed to confirm you’re a real person without profiling you or tracking you across sites. Cloudflare also gives us aggregate, cookie-free page statistics (which pages are visited, roughly from where) — nothing that identifies you.
  • Email — your enquiry is emailed to us so we actually see it.
  • Google Fonts — the site loads its typefaces from Google, which means Google sees the IP address of visitors. No account or personal detail is shared.
  • Job management software — we may load your request into the system we use to schedule and invoice work, so we’re not re-typing your details.

Beyond that, we’d only share information if the law required it, or if it were genuinely necessary to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights.

How Long We Keep It

Quote requests are kept while we’re actively working with you and for a reasonable period afterwards — you might come back next season, and it saves you repeating yourself. Records tied to completed work are kept as long as needed for tax and business records.

If you’d rather we didn’t keep yours, just ask and we’ll delete it.

Your Choices

Call or email us and we’ll help with any of the following, free:

  • See what we have about you
  • Correct anything wrong — a misspelled street, an old number
  • Delete it, unless we’re required to keep it for tax or legal reasons
  • Stop contacting you — say the word and we stop

You don’t need to give a reason and we won’t treat you differently for asking. Depending on where you live you may have additional legal rights; if you tell us what you’re asking for, we’ll honor it either way.

Keeping It Safe

The site runs over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, form submissions are protected against automated abuse, and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it to do the work.

No website can promise perfect security, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What we can say is that we deliberately collect as little as possible — the less we hold, the less there is to go wrong.

Children

This site is meant for adults arranging work on a property. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes to how we handle information will be reflected on this page before they take effect.
